   Biography

Caribbean Pulse
formed - 1995
(Los Angeles, California, USA)

Caribbean Pulse, an ethnically and musically diverse band is taking the world by storm.

A strong sense of meaningful lyrical content, beautiful harmonies, and aggressive rhythms has made Caribbean Pulse truly unique. The band has already shown their ardor by captivating audiences in the US, from California's Reggae Old School Jam and the Sea Breeze Festival to the Reggae Soca Award show in Florida, plus at many well-known venues such as the world-famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood.

The video-backed single "DRY YOUR EYES", with guest Tony Rebel on vocals is continuing to receive rave reviews from International Reggae critics and fans alike. It's guaranteed to make you move with messages of love, life, peace and world happiness. Produced by internationally acclaimed and extremely talented producer Fabian Cooke, whose history reads like a who's who of the music business. Fabian's credits include the massive world famous hit by Jimmy Cliff of Elton John and Sir Tim Rice's 'Hakuna Matata' from Walt Disneys "Lion King", plus celebrated productions with Ken Boothe, John Holt, Third World, Michael Rose, Big Mountain, Ini Kamoze, Steel Pulse and the man himself Bob Marley. The list is endless and Fabian brings an experience to the project other people only dream about.

Formed by William (Billy) Smith Jr., adding the titles of leader, organizer, spiritual guide and rhythm guitarist to an already busy schedule, with talented lead singer, songwriter, and percussionist Ezzy (pronounced 'easy') Judah, known as an energetic and charismatic performer, extremely talented young vocalist and composer LaNiece McKay, Jason "BassyJ" Smith, a self-contained Producer, Songwriter, Arranger & Bass Player, with his talented brother 'Billy' on rhythm guitar and multi-talented cousin Gil Smith on keyboards, are joined by a full compliment of world-renown musicians, including world famous drummer Carlton 'Santa' Davis (known for his work with Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Big Youth, Black Uhuru and Burning Spear among notable others!), keyboardist Michael Hyde, guitarist Steve Verhault (whose work includes such greats as Big Mountain, U-Roy, Wailing Souls and Sugar Minott to name but a few), and the 'steamin' horn section of Mike McGuffey on trumpet (ex-Tito Puente, Fifth Dimension and the Pointer Sisters), trombonist Mike Daigeau (who has worked with Dizzy Gillispie, Count Basie and Stevie Wonder) and Gary Herbig on saxophone (with past notables Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart and Gladys Knight) make Caribbean Pulse one of the most electrifying acts ever, both on recorded product and 'live'!

Adding to these fantastic individual accomplishments, this uniquely talented group has played alongside such phenomenal artists as Third World, Luciano, Freddie McGregor, Glen Washington, Everton Blender, Sugar Minot and Admiral Bailey to mention but a few. The band has also the distinction of having performed at the 7th Annual Reggae /Soca Awards 2000 in Florida.

Caribbean Pulse isn't just creating waves, it is creating a 'tsunami' storm and is definitely raising eyebrows around the globe!
